Arsenal play host to Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening in the standout fixture of the Premier League weekend, but Gunners fans don’t want Alex Iwobi to replace the injured Alexandre Lacazette in the starting line-up.
The club-record signing started and scored in the 5-0 thrashing of Huddersfield Town on Wednesday night, but he was taken off at half-time with a groin problem that rules him out of the clash against the Red Devils.
While Danny Welbeck or Olivier Giroud could be a direct replacement, manager Arsene Wenger may also consider moving Alexis Sanchez up top and bringing Iwobi in to play in one of the attacking midfield positions.
Arsenal supporters were quick to have their say on the possible inclusion of the Nigeria international via social media, and while one fans said “if Iwobi starts we won’t win”, another said he “shouldn’t be anywhere near the first team”.
