Coinciding with their 65th anniversary, Tigres will reportedly have a new stadium with a capacity of 55,000 spectators, making it slightly larger than the BBVA Stadium of Rayados, which holds 53,500.
According to Diario Récord, it's just a matter of paperwork for the government to approve the project and construction of the new stadium, which is expected to begin this year.
The new home of Tigres will be built where the current stadium's parking lot is located. In fact, while the construction is underway, fans attending matches at the Universitario will need to use the baseball stadium’s parking lot. Once the construction is completed, the old stadium will be demolished.
