Football is at a standstill at the moment with games postponed until at least April 3rd where the FA will then once again share their stance on the matter.
It’s sad to say, but it’s hard to imagine that football will be resumed on that date as the peak of the ongoing situation is predicted to be 10-14 weeks away yet, and of course, that leads to a number of questions still yet to be answered.
One of the biggest worries is the expiries of a number of key players’ deals as the season could plausibly run into the summer, where football contracts usually run out.
However, it’s not just players who are in that boat, and at Leeds they will have to address the future of one of their most important figures.

Marcelo Bielsa’s contract is up this summer, and if the season runs into next term he’d have every right to leave the club when his current deal expires, even if that is before the end of the final game is played.
Of course, no Leeds fan wants to see that, but what is going to happen?
He may be hesitant to sign on for another year with Phil Hay previously predicting that he will leave if they’re condemned to another season in the Championship, and promotion is far from confirmed at this point.
David Ornstein has recently stated that the FA and FIFA may grant special dispensation for weekly rolling contracts, but there’s no guarantee that the manager would want to work under such circumstances, especially if another job lies in wait.
There are certainly questions to be answered about the future of Bielsa at Elland Road, and as the situation escalates, it’s vitally important that United have a contingency plan in place if they are forced to re-negotiate with their manager. This will be a huge decision for Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta.
In other news, Leeds may have a bittersweet end to the season.
