Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz has been linked with a whole host of clubs over the last few months.
Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United are just three of those sides who have been mentioned in regards to a potential move for the 20-year-old, who scored 20 goals in all competitions last season. Liverpool, too, are said to be interested – he would set them back a pretty penny, though, with his price-tag said to be £110m.
Call yourself a Liverpool expert? How much did each of these big-money January signings cost?
Bild journalist Christian Falk has provided an update on the Germany international’s situation, and he has said that Die Werkself are “expecting” a bid from the Reds.
This has got the Liverpool fans talking in their droves, and it seems that many would love to see him join their club.
Havertz is clearly one of the most sought-after players on the planet – at the age of just 20, he has already made his mark on the Bundesliga. As such, he would be a fantastic addition for the Anfield outfit.
Others, meanwhile, believe that his potential arrival could be linked to the future of Georginio Wijnaldum.
Wijnaldum currently has just 18 months left on his contract, and it has been said that Liverpool are open to him departing in the summer. Havertz would be an impressive replacement if the Netherlands international were to leave.
One fan, meanwhile, believes that it could have an effect on one recent signing.
Takumi Minamino can play as an attacking midfield, a centre-forward and a winger – the Leverkusen man has played in all of those roles already during his short career. It would be interesting how the Japan international would be used if Havertz were to arrive.
It remains to be seen where the youngster ends up.
